Are You Pure?

As promised, the second piece of classic 2000AD production art for today, and this is an absolute beauty by the inimitable Kevin O'Neill. Prog #222, July, 1981.

  1. Fantastic. But then you can't go wrong with early O'Neill Nemesis, can you? Keep an eye out for the Prog 230 cover; I'd LOVE to see the production art for that one...

  2. Wow, looks stunning, the border design really highlights how individual a talent O'Neill is. Those metallic colourings though had a real battle on their hands up against toilet roll newsprint.

  4. Looks incredible compared to what we all read back then, the colours are just so vibrant! Gorgeous!
    It reminds me of a quote by Neil Young in reference to the age of digital recording, something along the lines of, 'when we listen back to all that music we made in the 80's, we'll wonder what it really sounded like?". With these, we can see what the artists intended.
    Nice timing on the post too Steve, Kev and Alan Moore are signing in Gosh today.
