Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome #2
I first posted some stills from this in March and the feature is now online as a series of webisodes. It will be available on Blu-ray™ Combo Pack, DVD, On Demand and Digital Download on February 19, 2013. An all-new chapter in the “Battlestar Galactica” saga, Blood & Chrome takes place in the midst of the first Cylon war. As the battle between humans and their creation, the sentient robotic Cylons, rages across the 12 colonial worlds, a young, talented fighter pilot, William Adama, finds himself assigned to one of the most powerful battlestars in the Colonial fleet: the Galactica. Though Adama quickly finds himself at odds with his co-pilot, the battle weary officer Coker (Ben Cotton, “Alcatraz”), the two men must set their differences aside when a routine escort mission with an enigmatic passenger (Lili Bordán, “Silent Witness”) turns dangerous and becomes a pivotal one for the desperate fleet.

McCurry For Pirelli
This must be one of the most iconic portraits since the Mona Lisa! Steve McCurry is the photographer and he's recently been working on the famous Pirelli Calendar for 2013. McCurry is such a class act for the job and he's brought his own unique perspective to the project as you will see from this short film. I want this calendar!

The Other Catwoman
From 26th of November 1976. Today marks the anniversary of the release of the Anarchy In The U.K. single and this is Soo Catwoman gracing the cover of Issue No. 1 (the only issue) of the 'Anarchy In The U.K.' newspaper, originally produced for the Sex Pistols' 'Anarchy' UK tour. I remember seeing this in WH Smith the newsagents at the time and I really wish I'd paid the 20p now. Featuring graphics by Jamie Reid, it recently sold for £350.00 at Bonhams!

Billy Chainsaw
A plug here for a new exhibition by Billy Chainsaw who was one of my group show art comrades at Orbital's Magick Eye 2 exhibition just a short while ago. Ever since his early teens, Hove-based artist Billy has been fascinated by the unknown, in its myriad forms, along with masks and the magickal weirdness of the number 23. “X - More Than A Journey Into The Unknown” is the first in a series of shows inspired by this fascination. A Long Time Ago . . .
In a Galaxy far, far away... actually it was in Canada, in June 1977 that I first heard about Star Wars. I was at a drive-in movie with a friend, watching a late-night horror double-bill of David Cronenberg's Rabid and George Romero's Night of the Living Dead. Between the films came a trailer for something that immediately caught our attention, in fact we were so impressed that we decided to seek it out and go see it the next day. Star Wars was ground-breaking for the time and was even more impressive with no background knowledge or hype to affect our expectations. Needless to say, I couldn't wait to see it again, but on my return to London had to wait a whole six months until Christmas. It seems incredible that the gap between film releases in the US and UK was so vast in those days, but that's the way it was. Here's the original flyer that I grabbed from the cinema in Hamilton, Ontario at the time.
Cut to three years later and I was given an invitation to the Special Preview of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Some of the actors were there and I met a couple of them afterwards, including Mark Hamill who also introduced me to his brother, plus C3PO himself, Anthony Daniels. Here are their autographs. I've been searching for these for years and woke up this morning, remembering exactly where I'd put them.
And here's the cover of the programme itself. Probably worth keeping.
Shortly after the preview they had an exhibition in Selfridges and here's a shot I took of the kids queuing up to see R2D2.

RIP Larry Hagman
I had the pleasure of meeting Larry Hagman back in 1982 at the height of his JR Ewing and Dallas fame, though I was far more impressed that he'd starred in one of my favourite 60's tv shows, I Dream of Jeannie. He was a lovely guy and had no problem posing for my camera. He just told me to count to three and on the last number sprang perfectly into pose mode. Here he is with my dear friend Shirin Khan at the famous Shezan restaurant in Knightsbridge, London. It's really sad to hear of his passing today. Below: Larry Hagman and Barbara Eden.

ADAMSKI - Numb Generation - Check it!
A couple of years ago Adamski sent me an mp3 'mixtape' he called This is Neo-Waltz and it blew my socks off. He's still at it and he's pulled in some great collaborators too, namely Viktoria Modesta, Mickey Lightfoot, David McAlmont and Bishi. His blog describes his project thus: Neo-Waltz is Adamski’s 21st century update of the style of music known as the waltz. Originally thought of as an indecent dance in 18th century England, Waltzing originally became popular inVienna in the 1780s and quickly spread throughout Europe as the most popular form of dance. Waltzing is a twirling dance in ¾ time performed in close proximity by couples. Bored of seeing clubbers dancing alone all these years, Adamski has put a modern twist on the dance in a bid to get people dancing together. Anyway, take a look/listen for yourself. This is Neo-Waltz!
